Frequently Asked Questions
Is Ukrainian hard to learn?
Ukrainian can be challenging for beginners, especially if it’s your first Slavic language, but it’s definitely manageable with consistent practice. The grammar can be complex, with cases, gendered nouns, and verb conjugations, but if you take it step by step and focus on speaking and listening early on, it becomes easier over time. The alphabet is Cyrillic, so you’ll need to learn that as well, but once you get the hang of it, reading and writing will be straightforward.
With the help of our native teachers at Voila Tutors, learning Ukrainian becomes much easier, as they provide personalized guidance and support to make the process smoother and more enjoyable. It’s a rewarding experience that’s well worth the effort!
How long does it take to learn Ukrainian?
The time it takes to learn Ukrainian depends on your language background and how much time you dedicate to studying. On average, with consistent effort, it can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years to become conversational. If you study for 2 hours per week with a teacher and spend an additional 1 to 2 hours practicing on your own, you’ll see steady progress.
At Voila Tutors, we also organize webinars and events where students can practice their skills in real-life situations, helping you gain confidence and improve faster. With the guidance of our native teachers, you’ll learn efficiently and enjoy the process!
