    1. Private (one-on-one)
      • If you want to learn French with a private tutor, this is the right option for you. We recommend at least one class per week (four per month) for several months in order to see significant improvements.
      • Prices
        In-Person: $55/hour (4 classes) | $49/hour (8+ classes)
        Online: $45/hour (4 classes) | $39/hour (8+ classes)
    2. Paired (two individuals)
      • This option is best for couples, or family members who would like to learn French together. This option applies only to pairs that are at a similar French level. In other words, it wouldn’t work if one is advanced and one is a beginner.
    3. Small group (up to 4 individuals)
      • Small groups are great for friends or family members. If you’re alone and are interested in small group learning, we might be able to fit you an existing group, if available.
    4. Large group (5 or more individuals)
      • Large groups can be anywhere from 5 to 10 people. No more. This is the most affordable way to learn French while receiving our best price.

    Frequently Asked Questions

French is a medium difficulty language for English speakers to learn. It is not as difficult as languages like Arabic or Chinese, but it is also not as easy as Spanish or Italian.

With consistent study and practice, under the guidance of the right tutor, most people can become proficient in French.

Some of the things that can make French easier to learn include having a good foundation in English grammar, being familiar with other latin languages, and having a strong motivation to learn the language. It may also be helpful to immerse yourself in the French language and culture, either by traveling to a French-speaking country or by seeking out French-language media and resources.

It is difficult to say exactly how long it will take to learn French, as this can vary depending on a number of factors such as your natural language learning ability, the amount of time you are able to dedicate to study and practice, and the intensity of your lessons.

According to the US State Government, it will take someone that has never spoken a single French word in their life about 600 classroom hours to become proficient in “the romance language”. This is equivalent to about 3 to 4 years of study for a student who is enrolled in a French course that meets for 1 hour per week.

However, if you are able to study French more intensively, for example by taking multiple classes per week or immersing yourself in a French-speaking environment, you may be able to become proficient in a significantly shorter amount of time. Ultimately, the length of time it takes to learn French will depend on your personal goals and dedication to the study of the language.

There are many benefits to learning French. Some of the main reasons to learn French include:

    • French is the official language in 33 countries, and it is spoken by dozens of millions of people. It’s also spoken as a second language by many people in other countries. This makes it a useful language to know for business and travel.

    • French is a Romance language: French is a Romance language, which means that it is related to Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. If you know one of these languages, it may be easier for you to learn French. Additionally, learning French can also help you learn other Romance languages more quickly.

    • French is an important language in many fields: French is an important language in fields such as diplomacy, international relations, and the arts. Knowing French can open up career opportunities in these fields. The United Nations, for instance ,uses both English and French as its primary languages.

    • Learning French can improve your cognitive skills: Studies have shown that learning a second language can have a positive impact on your cognitive skills, such as your problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

    • Learning French can be enjoyable: French is a beautiful and expressive language, and learning it can be a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Whether you are motivated by the opportunity to communicate with native speakers, to learn about French culture, or simply to challenge yourself intellectually, learning French can be a fulfilling and enriching activity.
